PROTECT AND EXPAND
Phase One – Purchase two group homes to expand housing capacity to meet increasing demand for transitional living housing and services–$2M capital campaign approved by GH Board of Directors
To be completed by June 30, 2024
- Purchase two Oxnard group homes from Rescue Mission Alliance for $1.6M – $1.7M
- These properties will house 25-37 women/children in a number of bedrooms and bathrooms; each house also has a kitchen, ample laundry facilities and a large, shared yard and playground
- Raise renovation funds of about $200K; flooring, painting, electrical, plumbing, and furnishings
- Hire additional staff to manage the homes and residents
- Raise additional funds for all expenses related to additional houses: mortgage (if any), utilities, staff, maintenance; estimated $5k a month over the next two years
SECURE AND FORTIFY
Phase Two – Purchase and complete renovations for 1450 S. Rose Avenue, Oxnard
Fall 2024 – 2025
- Continue negotiations with City of Oxnard to purchase current Gabriel’s House property at 1450 S. Rose Avenue; estimated cost $1.2M
- If purchase is completed, begin renovations already provided for by donors; flooring, window blinds, and security system
- Raise new funds for complete kitchen remodel, roof replacement, plumbing repairs, security fencing/gate, and possibly the addition of another bathroom; estimated cost $150K
FULFILL THE GREATER VISION
Phase Three – Purchase manufactured tiny homes for placement at 1450 S. Rose Avenue
2025-2030
- Purchase prefabricated tiny homes to develop transitional living Hope Village at Gabriel’s House
- Install all electric, water, sewer, and other needed infrastructure; estimated cost $5M
- Hire additional house managers to manage increased resident occupancy
- Engage churches and individuals to sponsor the purchase and furnishing of each tiny home
