If you are a single woman or woman with children and would like to apply to become a resident at Gabriel’s House Emergency Shelter and Transitional Housing, please call our intake line at (805) 487-3445. It’s staffed 24 hours a day, and if we’re not available, please leave a message. We want to talk to you! We will do a phone interview with you, and if you are eligible for the program, you will then receive an appointment to talk with our case manager.
Gabriel’s House Emergency Shelter is a short-term program that helps women and children by offering case management services along with housing and life skill development for up to 90 days. In addition, we offer Gabriel’s House Transitional Housing for up to a year for women who have secured a job and are diligently working on their case plans during their 90-day stay.
If you’re facing homelessness or are already homeless, it can be stressful to think about going to a shelter. Please know that Gabriel’s House is different. We’re an actual home, surrounded by farmland, close to the local bus line, and just a couple of miles from downtown Oxnard. You’ll feel safe here. You’ll have your own closet to store your belongings, so you don’t need to take them with you if you leave for work or a medical appointment. There’s a playground for children with equipment for different ages. Every night, residents and volunteers make homemade meals to share. Gabriel’s House is safe and peaceful. You’ll feel at home here as you seek a new and hope-filled future.
